GENERAL INFORMATION

Trophy Care

Proper care of your trophy makes for a better final product.

  • Take several pictures immediately upon catching your fish if possible.
  • Do not cut the fish in any way!
  • Do your best to keep the fish from flopping around and losing scales or creating fin damage.
  • Lay the fins down and wrap the fish in a soaking wet towel.
  • Place in a plastic bag squeezing all the air out. Tape closed and freeze (or put on ice if a freezer is unavailable).

Reproduction Fish (Replicas)

  • Take several pictures immediately upon catching your fish if possible.
  • Measure the length of your trophy fish from the tip of bottom jaw to the tip of tail.
  • Girth measurement (optional): take from around the largest part of the fish.
  • Weigh your fish (optional): Use a hand held scale if you have one.
  • Girth measurement & weight are not necessary. But, would be useful for a more accurate replica.
